As a perfomring artist myself, I know how important having a great photo is. That is why I started doing this. I know the difference between great photos and the hundreds of bad ones that I have seen friends pay tons of money for every year.

ACTORS: you need headshots that not only get you in the door, but represent you in the best, and most honest way. You should look like YOU --not an overly-glammed out version of yourself--You wouldn't go to an audition in a ball gown, so don't take headshots in one. The goal is to look your best and be comfortable. Remember, after you leave the audition your picture should still be working for you, not against you.

MUSICIANS: Whether you are doing PR shots, album artwork, photos for your website etc. you want your shots to make sense with your sound. I love working with musicians. Your pictures should be as good as your music ! If you are a solo artist / singersongwriter the same is true, and it's even more important that we get to know who you are and where your music comes from since you are synonomous with your music.

Portraits: This is a whole other thing. I shoot photos that are timeless. That's it.

Overall, getting a great photo to me is about capturing emotion at the right moment--and that moment may be faster than 1 second---but if you can get it, then you will have a photo that will stay with you forever.
